"Jeff Rosen wonders why only conservatives want to amend the constitution." I'm overall a liberal and I'd like to amend the constitution lots of ways. Let's start with one person one vote for once, not 70 votes in the Senate for Americans in Wyoming for every one that Americans in California get. How about a simple thing like the candidate who gets the most Americans' votes for President wins, unlike in 2000. How about corporations and rich people can't buy politicians' favor with giant donations? and I could go on. But I know these things aren't currently feasible yet. It is, though, important to still talk about them and build support so that one day in the future we may improve our democracy, which obviously is not perfect. That's why the founding fathers put in the option of amendments in the first place.
