--Mitch McConnell concedes tax cuts didn't help economy, immediately retreats into word blizzard
--WashPost: What happens to Vargas stays with Vargas
--A better defense of Nozick than "Hey, look -- Ann Coulter!"
--Cutting domestic discretionary spending is the policy response to fiscal ignorance
--Matt Bai, citing one data point, says the media hates Jon Huntsman. Not me. I love Huntsman! I just agree with Huntsman circa 2009 that he can't win the nomination.
--Case in point, Alex Klein's gonzo journey with the preppy Huntsman hipsters. It doesn't end well.

The NYT article is excellent but so much of the facts presented there are not common knowledge to most voters; if anything they believe the opposite of the facts (thank you, faux nooz). I have a co-worker, one of the teabagger types, that argues until (literally, no joke) red in the face his taxes are higher today by a huge amount than in 1998. Of course they're higher, he makes much more money than in 1998. But I could not convince him under any circumstances he pays lower percentage today than in 1998. I'd bet most voters, a vast majority, think the same erroneously. If the Democrats could educated voters, with BO leading the way, of this fact then much of the problem we wave with the federal budget goes away. I don't see any education going on though, especially from the WH. I don't expect miracles but I don't even see the WH trying to counter the lies and bulls**t.

Really? No one here is going to link to the 57 year old unemployed man who made the rational decision to rob a bank so he could get health care in prison? http://abcnews.go.com/Health/Wellness/nc-man-allegedly-robs-bank-health-care-jail/story?id=13887040

I think Lib posted that link in one of his talk-backs yesterday (I did read it yesterday, that is for sure).. That made me cringe as a native and lifelong resident of NC. I expect this kind of thing to get worse now that the knuckle-dragging GOP klan has taken over the state legislature. They want to roll things back to the 50s. The 1850s.

ah, good then. Still, I'd have thought Cohn or Chait would've said something about it. Sry to hear about the NC legislature...
