It was bad enough when Rudy Giuliani and John McCain declared they were pulling out of the Iowa straw poll. But now stealth candidate Jim Gilmore has announced that he, too, is taking a pass. As he explained:
Unfortunately, the results of the August Iowa straw poll are going to be determined solely by which candidate is willing to spend the most money and will have little to do with the candidate's conservative appeal to Republican voters.
Gilmore, of course, has vanishingly little of either resource.
