While this news may not excite the nation's loins the way the Wisconsin primary did, Obama just won the Democrats Abroad global primary--his 11th victory in a row. What exactly is the Democrats Abroad global primary? A good question, and one Adrianne Quinlan answered in this piece we ran on the website last week that's worth checking out if you haven't yet. Anyway, the vote gives Obama 2.5 new delegates, and it gives Hillary two. So a question for the Talk Backers: which superdelegate do you think is only worth half a vote?

Hillary (or Mark Penn or Howard Wolfson) would say that was true of all Obama delegates...
But seriously, "excite the nation's loins"??

What I want to know is, how did Hillary get four-ninths of the Democrats Abroad vote? That's roughly a 55-44 win for Obama, but the Democrats Abroad groups I keep in touch with -- London, Amsterdam -- were seeing more like 80-10 majorities for Obama. So Hillary must have run up wins among expats in some countries. Which ones?

You know, instead of delaying our postings, maybe the editors should do something useful, like edit. The word is "expatriate," not "expatriot." Americans abroad didn't cease to be patriots, ya doof.

Eve Fairbanks seems to think Dean is worth less than a superdelegate at this point. I don't disagree.

Limbaugh: That half delegate is so that illegals can have representation in the Democrat party.

Oh, something tells me that by April or May, the Clinton campaign will argue that Obama supporters should count as three fifth of a delegate.

Giving G-Rod a bit too much credit there, aren'tcha Adamvaught? Unless awesome hair somehow counts towards delegate-status.

adaglas,
The Blagorgeous One is a superdelegate--I'm sorry, "automatic" delegate--because he's a governor. But because he is a half-ass governor, his delegate vote should count for half.
Did you see what the Obama campaign did with him? Prior to the primary there was a press conference with five of the six Illinois statewides urging people to go vote for Obama. Notably missing: G-Rod.
Some speculated he was missing because of Obama didn't want the Rezko connection to be brought up. I think it is because Obama wanted to avoid a Blagojevich connection. Apparently the Obama campaign told Blago his time would be best spent calling uncommitted governors and ask them to support Obama instead of being part of the press conference. At the time of the press conference, they told Blago he would be super helpful by being on the phones. At that very moment. Apparently the other governors were only available between 2:00 and 2:30 on January 28, 2008. And then his office practically bragged about how he was being used.
I thought that was awesome. That’s the kind of stuff little kids fall for.

That's awesome. It's like telling that irritating guy who somehow gloms onto your circle of friends the wrong bar to meet at, just because they can't think of a nicer way to get rid of him. "Uh, press conference? Nah, don't know what you're talking about. We're all meeting at, uh, the phone bank. Yeah, that's it. See you there buddy!"
But I still think giving him half a vote is 3/8 too much.

What would the home of the Kentucky Derby need with another horse's ass? But Indiana might take him off our hands if we throw in a chunck of the Powerball gate in exchange for a few bushels of corn, and possibly John Mellencamp.

I get a huge kick out of Matthews but sometimes I wonder if his frequent guests don't form support groups for one another off the air. Brokaw had a funny line on The Daily Show about calming him down on election nights, wish I could remember it.
