Go Home Money, Money, Money

THE PLANK APRIL 2, 2007

Money, Money, Money

The first quarter totals are starting to come in (for the Democrats, at least). Today's Times reports that Hillary Clinton pulled in $26 million; John Edwards netted $14 million; Bill Richardson totaled $6 million; Chris Dodd raised $4 million; and Joe Biden raised $3 million.

Now we're just waiting to hear from Obama, who should reveal his first quarter total any day now. The fact that he hasn't done so already leads the Hotline blog to speculate that he took in an impressive $21 million--and wants to time the announcement of such for maximum effect.

P.S. Insert the Phil Gramm Memorial Cautionary Note here--about how candidates who raise a ton of first quarter cash don't necessarily win.

This site http://obamarama.org says he got over 82,000 donations, a larger number than Howard Dean got in any cycle during his run.
