Go Home Not You, Too, Mitt!

THE PLANK APRIL 21, 2008

Not You, Too, Mitt!

Also, with regard to conservative blue-collar P.C., Alan Abramowitz emails to point out that now Mitt Romney is calling Barack Obama an elitist.

Mit Romney! Who's, next, George Will? Oh, wait...

As cultural and tech icons go, eBay and its ex-CEO are about as un-elitist as they come.

Also, W. Wilard's of course an elitist but he at least had/has the political savvy to put forth a bold and intelligent plan for preventing my and Chait's home state from collapsing altogether. Maybe Obama will come on strong in the rustbelt in the fall, but right now it's looking like MI OH PA and MO are eminently poachable by a rustbelt populist McC-Romney platform.

I doubt McCain will choose Romney for VP.  First of all, McCain doesn't like the Mitster.  Secondly, the evangelical crowd has made it clear they don't want a "cultist" on the ticket.

I think it's between Crist and Pawlenty.  I'm hoping for Crist, because I don't think Florida is in play this year anyway.

tep, there is no way Romney is VP. Romney puts nowhere new in play. I like Romney, but an earnest and well meaning old man, plus a mannekin, won't fill stadiums. McCain will go long, or choose someone he feels comfortable with, neither is romney.

He puts Michigan and Nevada in play and also helps in CO.
