Go Home Obama's Nobel: Not Obama's Fault

Obama's Nobel: Not Obama's Fault

Most everybody seems to think it's absurd to award the Nobel Prize to President Obama. I suppose I could even see how you could get outraged over it. What's amazing to me is that conservatives are outraged at President Obama. Read the Corner. It's insane. They seem to think Obama chose himself for the award.

Mr. President, please take a rain check on this. See if you can politely get out of it by saying you had an emergency with one of your daughters--or both--when this will be awarded.

For once, the DNC gets it exactly right:

The Republican Party has thrown in its lot with the terrorists -- the Taliban and Hamas this morning -- in criticizing the President for receiving the Nobel Peace Prize. Republicans cheered when America failed to land the Olympics and now they are criticizing the President of the United States for receiving the Nobel Peace Prize -- an award he did not seek but that is nonetheless an honor in which every American can take great pride -- unless of course you are the Republican Party. The 2009 version of the Republican Party has no boundaries, has no shame and has proved that they will put politics above patriotism at every turn. It's no wonder only 20 percent of Americans admit to being Republicans anymore -- it's an embarrassing label to claim.

I believe the Republicans also blame Obama for being president. They admit it was the American people who voted for him -- but if he hadn't tempted them by running in the first place . . .

They're a new party everyday. It's hilarious. Three weeks ago they were raving about the CBO's estimates, and then when Baucus released his version of the HC bill, suddenly the CBO didn't matter anymore. Saturday Night Live was a liberal fascist institution for its entire history up until last weekend, and now it's greeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaat!!!!

It's not that they're outraged over the Nobel. It's that they feel constant, intense rage towards President Obama and the Nobel was today's pretext for venting that rage. If he hadn't won the prize they'd be raging about him blowing up the moon.

I think it should be called the "we really, really, really fucking hated George Bush" award this year. I thought it was too early, but as a message to the Republicans that most of the world hates their f-ing guts, the message is loud and clear.
