Plouffe: Biden Over Bayh, Barely

You have to wonder how much Joe Biden appreciates this detailed account from Obama's former campaign manager about how he became VP in a "coin toss" decision.

Perhaps this was really just put in the press now to remind Evan Bayh that Senators who were a coin toss away from the Vice Presidency shouldn't filibuster the White House's signature domestic policy proposal under any circumstances.

Doesn't name all the names, but it looks like Team Obama didn't even consider Brad Henry. I understand the laziness and celebrity thinking that led the McCain campaign to not even consider Cathy McMorris-Rodgers (she's Palin with brains, a better family, real experience, and a proven ability to appeal to independents, but unlike Palin she never gave any of McCain's media pals a cruise-ship erection). But I'm disappointed that the Obama list seems also to have included only names that would occur to David Broder. And poor Biden. If he'd known Obama had such a steamroller in Iowa, he never would have run? I'm a huge Joe Biden fan, and I've wished he could be president since about 1991, but I saw him try to stump at the Iowa State Fair in '07. Guy couldn't even get the attention of people standing literally feet away from him, even with the help of a microphone. If you can't even beat the guy across the street hawking pork chops on a stick, the Obama juggernaut isn't your problem!
