The Washington Post is shuttering its literary stand-alone Book World, the Times confirms. Rumors of Book World's budgetarily-motivated demise had been flying since the new year. It seems my plea to spare Book World, in which I reiterated TNR's editorial on the grave importance of book reviews, went unheeded.
