Was Wingnut Auditorium Booked That Day?

McCain to introduce his veep pick at the Nutter Center. (It's named for Ervin J. Nutter.) A fine choice if he's going with a moderate, not so much if it's a staunch right-winger.

I think this is an early hint that his running mate will be Alan Keyes.

miceelf: that made me laugh out loud. VP might be the only office that Keyes has not previously competed.

Post of the day goes to mice.

As Professor Brzezinski notes, "timing is key." Plus the "ability to crystallize the issue."

But seriously, why would McCain have a major campaign announcement on his birthday??? Wouldn't that be kind of like Obama timing a campaign event with the start of Ramadan?

Maybe his Veep will pop out of a cake?

Could it be Paris in the leopard print bikini?

How about the fact that Aug 29th is also the 3rd anniversary of Hurricane Katrina?  As a Katrina "survivor" and a New Orleans native, it kinda seems appropo that McCain will announce on the 3 year anniversary of  Bush and McCain laughing and eating cake, when Katrina hit.

BTW, I know that McCain's VP pick is important and all, but every year since I've gone home (I lived in the badly hit area of the city, ya know the area that has been wiped out), nothing has changed.  There are still abandoned houses some with numbers still spray painted on them designating any dead bodies found.  But as usual, the attention span of the American public has swung away from NOLA, but whatever.
