Eric Hobsbawm, Stalinist and supporter of the Russian invasion of Hungary in 1956.

Does anyone still read him?

J. Dyer asks re "Eric Hobsbawm, Stalinist and supporter of the Russian invasion of Hungary in 1956[:] [D]oes anyone still read him?

Answer: Yes, apparently someone at TNR still reads him, and that person must know that Hobsawm, to this day, is an unrepentent cheerleader for Stalinism.

Humbly yours, from the dead zone which is TNR on Saturdays and Sundays, and this past week, Friday too, I remain, in universal sister- and brotherhood,
