Why would Jimmy Carter, Kofi Annan and Mary Robinson take a trip together? Having failed in every significant venture these two men and one women have ever undertaken they can carry on what I assume would by now be a very depressing habit by visiting the Middle East. And that is exactly what they are going to do. Who pays for these journeys, I do not know. The story is in Ha'aretz, a paper I really don't like but on which I am dependent. So maybe I do like it, after all.I would have thought that maybe Jimmy himself would have realized by how he was treated in Darfur that he is not respected in the troubled areas of the world. In fact, if you recall, a captain of the guard in Darfur hadn't the slightest idea who Carter was.Kofi Annan, who was himself responsible for allowing two genocides to take place (in Bosnia and Rwanda), has no persuasive power in Israel, which after all knows about genocide and other people's indifference to it.And Mary Robinson. Well, she needs something to do. She is one of those stern people who smiles dourly.

Three Wise Men heading to the Mideast for Peace.
The original Wise Men were smart enough to know they were being used to find the baby who would become the king of kings for Herrod. Supposedly they shook their tail and headed home to Persia and points beyond leaving Herrod to his Slaughter of the Innocents.
Why do I have the feeling these Wise Men will lead to another Slaughter of the Innocents?
In the old days we would refer to Carte, Annan and Robinson as Useful Idiots. I think with the Ego of these folks and their grand ambitions, they are know Useless Idiots.
I see diasaster coming with this trip. Or as Jeremiah put it: "Thus says the Lord: A voice is heard in Ramah, lamentation and bitter weeping. Rachel is weeping for her children."

Mary Robinson was the idiot who concluded there was an Israeli massacre in Jenin before investigating. She's a real bastard.

I hope the Israeli government denies them entry, although I doubt that will happen, since Olmert resides in the shtetl of his fantasies.

Mary Robinson presided over the 2001 World Conference against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance in Durban, South Africa. That shows that she is either a knave or a fool. (But I am sure that she was a great president of Ireland.)

"Having failed in every significant venture these two men and one women have ever undertaken"
We know you don't like these three Marty, but ridiculous hyperbole like this just hurts your argument. I mean, jeez, getting elected President of the United States is probably a "significant venture" in itself!
