As you know, I voted just before noon. But, at 7:02, I got a phone call from Martha Coakley asking me to cast my ballot for her. "We've come too far ... etc., etc." Actually, she hadn't come nearly far enough.
And then at 7:13, I received another call from someone who didn't identify herself. Of course, she was phoning on behalf of Coakley.
It wasn't the president. It wasn't Bill Clinton. It wasn't Vicki Kennedy.
Why didn't John Kerry call? Or Deval Patrick? I understand why they didn't put Joe Kennedy up to this prank.
P.S. I received another call at 7:58. The polls closed at 8.

Well, she lost, I am not surprised. Drving in the suburbs I saw hardly any pro Coakley signs on people's lawns. There were a few Brown signs, not many, but when that's all you see it makes it seem that only he exists. I hope the House Demos can come together and pass the Senate Bill, but I doubt they are any more realistic than Coakley who took it for granted that the Senate seat was hers.

Coakley deserved to lose, but I wish she hadn't lost at this particular time. If I were still registered in MA I would have voted for her; from Providence I can only look on in frustration. I worry you're right about the House Dems, Jackson.
