This tack is so ridiculously dumb. Conservative Republicans know where Rudy Giuliani stands: mostly with them, sometimes not. He doesn't duck the differences. Doesn't make excuses. Folks respect that. So, yes, Fred Thompson is more conservative. More pure. Except when he's lobbying for abortion rights and legally defending Libyan terrorists. The hypocrisy of these guys is just too much. Romney denounces Reagan one week and champions him the next. Now Thompson, a guy with more skeletons in his closet than anyone, is joining him in openly encouraging a Rudy counterattack. The fact a pro-choice New Yorker is going to win the nomination of the Republican Party is completely unbelievable...until you take a hard look at his opponents.
