Ron Paul has raised nearly more than $4 million in one day. That's four times what Mike Huckabee raised in the entire last quarter. It's still impossible to see Paul winning the GOP nomination. But he will certainly have the money to heavily influence Iowa and New Hampshire if he chooses--and to make life miserable for any opponents of his choosing. Think Rudy Giuliani might regret jumping down his throat at that first debate?
P.S. The occasion is Guy Fawkes day, the anniversary of a failed 1605 attempt to blow up the British parliament. Quote of the day:
Mr. Benton clarified that Mr. Paul did not support blowing up government buildings. “He wants to demolish things like the Department of Education,” Mr. Benton said, “but we can do that very peacefully, in a constructive manner.”
Somehow I don't think the Gunpowder Conspirators figured into Mitt Romney's 50-step PowerPoint plan for winning the nomination.
P.P.S. Can you imagine if Paul were a younger and more charismatic figure? This was Pat Buchanan's year...

Actually, the final total was $4.002 million.
And Mikey: if it's "Impossible" to see Ron Paul winning the Republican nomination, maybe the problem is with your fucking contact lens prescription.
The rest of the country can see it pretty fucking clearly.

Michael, the November 5th donation drive was not to celebrate Guy Fawke's attempt to blow up parliament, but rather it celebrates the government's success in foiling the plot of treason. This is why November 5th is celebrated every year in the UK. Would they really celebrate a terrorist plot to blow up their own parliament?
The Ron Paul followers liken the Guy Fawke's plot to the current government's "treason" against the Citizens of the United States.
I don't see why all media reporters/pundits keep saying that the November 5th donation drive was to celebrate Guy Fawke's attempt. They need to better educate themselves.

Speaking of treason, why have you folks allowed the IT bozos to kill "Talkback"? None of my posts from Thursday night (CET) have gone up, and nothing, zero, nada, has been posted to anything put up since Friday. Are you kidding?

Please take that home alone picture down. It scares me. That movie was horrible. Put Ron Paul up instead. He's adorable.

"Put Ron Paul up instead. He's adorable."
Speaking of someone who needs their prescription (contact lens or otherwise) checked again...

So many f words, so lousy a point.
And I'm pretty sure that rest of the country isn't as freakish enough as you to actually support Dr. Paul. I direct you to any poll by any polling organization out there to prove my point.
He's lame. And crazy. Sorry to burst your bubble :)

Basically, this means that 9-11 Truthers, Montana Woodsmen, Weird Libertarians with Pony Tails, Waco Conspiracy Theorists, Hippies, Buchananites, and paranoid skitzaphrenics (all white males) have been hoarding quarters for the last few years.
The odd thing about Paul receiving so many internet contributions is this: Isn't internet money (electronic and invisible - a mere construct backed by the government and finantial institutions) even less credible than paper money? How do these crazy people know that their money is making it to Ron Paul, rather than being absorbed by the ATF for use in helicopter flyovers of their house?

I, for one, support Guy Fawkes and his attempt to restore tolerance for Catholicism in Protestant England. James I and V went back on his word to the Catholics of England, it is a shame they did not succeed and it would have spared England (and Ireland) the lunacy of Cromwell.
