These Maps of Where You Run Will Also Explain Your City

What’s the point of having our every movement tracked by machines if we can’t make something pretty out of all that data floating around? Statistician Nathan Yau mined data from the popular exercise app RunKeeper to map people’s running and cycling paths in different cities around the world. The maps track population density and sociological fault lines in cities all over the world. One other thing: It turns out runners everywhere have a thing for waterways.
