Go Home Indiana Jones Is Back!

THE PLANK FEBRUARY 14, 2008

Indiana Jones Is Back!

This is really Chris' turf, but I must admit that, despite having made my share of jokes about the 104-year-old Harrison Ford's return to his greatest role, I had trouble supressing a lump in my throat after seeing this.

On the same subject, it's worth checking out last month's Vanity Fair cover story on the making of the movie. The article serves as undeniable proof that George Lucas, seemingly not content with ruining Star Wars, will stop at nothing to destroy another movie series.

Dear God,

Please, please, don't let George Lucas fuck this up too.

Wow. Definitely got goosebumps - though I'm concerned that the screenwriter for Speed 2 Cruise Control, who collaborated on the writing of this project, might mess this whole thing up.

I don't want this to suck, so so badly.  I know I will be there opening day.  But I am terrified.

You think you're pissed, I've been doing archaeology for eight years, shoveling mostly paperwork (I hate tell you, there isn't much repelling into tombs) because of those movies. Damnit, I should have sloughed off the felt hat and gone the Gordon Geco route before I was permanently indentured to the student loan corporation.

George is to his cinematic legacy as Bill Clinton is to his political one.

Here's the new Indiana Jones trailer (hat tip: Isaac Chotiner): Of course, the last time George Lucas tried to resuscitate a classic movie series from my youth, I had to endure the torture of watching Lucas reduce Ewan McGregor, Natalie Portman, and Samuel

drdan - I can't believe I'm the only one to congratulate you on that excellent line.  That should be made the title of Isaac's post.
