Eve, your version has a touch of Gordon Lightfoot's "Early Mornin' Rain" in the vocal, toward the end. Quite eerie. Bravo too.

Exotic & Sublime.
Who says Eagles don't flock?
Eve is the new American Idol.

Great stuff, Eve. Wow, you play the accordion. Me too. I learned to play and to sight read music when I was eight years old. I have perfect pitch, which aided me greatly in learning music. You have a very good voice. Good luck on your sojourn to Africa.

It's time for John Ashcroft to audition. American Idol, Dancing With the Stars, Celebrity Apprentice, whatever.
His performance reminds you of the scene from "10" when the minister auditioned for Dudley Moore.
You just can't fake talent like that.
Maybe Obama should use it to interogate Bernie Madoff and investment bankers on Wall Street. Yes, it's borderline torrture, but these are perilous times. If nothing else it would act as a deterrent to all future corruption.

hot dang Eve, now I know that you were a theater music kid...
I had forgotten about the warblin' Ashcroft. That Raisin' McCain song sorta obliterated my delicate tissues so badly that all musical memory was lost...
until Eve's Eagle Soared!

When you were a boy, walton? Wasn't that during the Old Kingdom (ancient Egypt, that is)?

Nice voice. I'll echo the others comments who've said you have (career) options...

WOW!!! I was expecting this to be supermean, and instead it was really beautiful. Best of luck and be careful in Africa.

Eve, good luck in South Africa! But I hope you'll come back -- if only to perform some Orrin Hatch songs for us ...

Huh.
A lot of you seemed surprised by this video. You shouldn't be. Eve went to Yale. Now, outside of good grades and astronomical SATs, Yale and similar schools require an absurd, superhuman level of "well rounded"ness along with something that makes the person "unique."
So someone who plays the accordian (what, not the guitar?! Amazing!) and who decides to spend two years in Africa (how quirky! how unique!), and who has had voice lessons (wow, your parents were probably living vicariously through you! and were probably militants in encouraging you to enroll in as many extracurricular activities as possible so they could feel better about their shortcomings!) -- that's your prototype Yale student. Ironically, these admissions practices make for, overall, the most collectively boring and homogeneous student body possible.
OK, done with my rant.. I guess what I'm trying to say is... I'm just pissed off I didn't get into Yale. :P

Who cares whether it's surprising or not? She sounds great. Go Yale a cappella!
Have a great time in Africa, Eve. It's been fun reading / watching your posts.
Boola boola,
Avi
