I'm still undecided about skyfarming, but this is one good-lookin' green roof:

That's the nifty new art-school building at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. Apparently the "building’s turfed roofscape helps lower the temperature of the roof and surrounding areas." (Last year, researchers estimated that green roofs could dramatically curb energy use in a number of cities by reducing the need for AC during sweaty season.) And, yes, it appears you can just walk right up.

Sensational building. Very similar to my own 1950's high rise, grey, old civil service office block.

My black heart would be happier to see it as a giant vegetable patch than a lawn. I hate lawns. But speaking of vegetables, what think you of this?:

Nice to see some parts of the world the average American would consider backwards is more forward thinking 'bout those green roofs. But maybe Markben1 is on to something. Marketing these sustainable building components as corporate executive lifestyle features.
"So here we have the putting green designed by Arnold Palmer off of the CEO's roof deck which also overlooks the fully organic garden and fish pond for the upper management cafeteria where fresh field greens and heirloom vegetables are grown, while the salt-water pond contains freshly stocked fish varieties for straight to the plate sushi bar."
Then again I think just a nice field of native plants would be good enough for most folks to look at out the window as they pine for a job that isn't in a cubicle (no matter how green it is.)
