Paris Hilton Walks
June 07, 2007
Finally, the excuse I've long awaited to mention Paris Hilton in a headline: It seems she's been released from prison after five days (for a 23-day sentence for driving with a suspended license) for a "health issue," and will finish her sentence wearing an electronic bracelet under home confinement. Al Sharpton is already up in arms over this, and in this case I have to say the reverend is right. Special treatment for celebrities isn't just disgusting, it does real damage to the credibility of the justice system. I hope Paris gets booed everywhere she goes for the next few months.... P.S.
Paris Sera Toujours Paris

Mickey Kaus is shocked, shocked that Paris Hilton's use of the "n-word" in a years-old videotape has not gotten more media attention. I'd like to read this as something other than a new entrant in his series of quasi-defenses of Ann Coulter's use of the "f-word" at CPAC--see! Hilton did something even worse, and no one's up in arms about it!--but it's awfully hard to do so.
